Consequences

The aim of the consequences sub-committee is to examine the impact of drug problems on society in terms of:

  • drug related deaths
  • the effect of drugs on the family and communities
  • the relationship between drugs and crime
  • the methods for tackling social nuisance related to drug misuse

The Consequences sub-committee is made up of the following members. The work programme is currently involved in the following research activities.

 

Completed Research

  • The Consequences of Drug Misuse: Dr Kieran McKeown carried out a scoping study on researching families affected by drug use in collaboration with the Family Support Network. This has been used to inform research planning.
