Seminar on the Exploration of Drug Issues through Community Research

The NACD hosted a conference entitled “Exploring Drug Issues Through Community Research” to mark the launch of the reports funded under the NACD’s Community/Voluntary Sector Research Grant Scheme. The Conference was an all day event in the Burlington Hotel. Mr Noel Ahern TD, Minister of State for the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs with responsibility for the National Drugs Strategy opened proceedings. Dr Des Corrigan, Chairperson NACD, acted as Conference Chair for the day. Presentations were given by each of the organisations listed below on findings from their research. The reports and presentations can be downloaded from the links below. Ms Aileen O’Gorman, Research Officer at the NACD, opened the afternoon session with a presentation on community-based research. The conference then broke into three workshops where participants had the opportunity to discuss the research and how it could be used. The feedback will be written up and presented to Minister Ahern. It will also be posted on the website.
