Harm Reduction
Research Brief:
To conduct a literature review of harm reduction approaches aimed
at minimising the sharing of equipment used to administer drugs.

Progress:
This research is now completed. The Final Report has been published by the
NACD and recommendations have been made to Government.
Published:
May 2004
Dissemination: One thousand five hundred copies of
the report were printed due to the wide interest in the report’s findings.
A copy went to the Minister of State, Mr Noel Aherne. The publication
was circulated to key audiences and stakeholders such as the IDG, NDST,
Local and Regional Drugs Task Forces, service providers and other interest
groups. Copies are available on the web.
